PLUS HOSTELS - FLORENCE, ITALY
Plus Hostels in Florence, Italy wished to redesigned their entire
hostel including the reception area, a quad room, a double room, and a single room based off of a concept and using inspiration from two architects. Two custom light fixtures were also required.
The project used inspiration from Marcel Wanders and Mario Cucinella and chose the fluid painting process and final product as a concept to guide the designs. The idea was to create an environment that balanced excitement through the use of different materials and physical design structures with areas of privacy and comfort, which were controlled through spacial
decisions rather than materials. The custom light fixtures included a sconce and a ceiling light that were used in the rooms and the reception area.
